To submit a paper, you need to login to your account.
Submission Deadline
Full Papers
Full Papers must be submitted by 29 April 2024. Completed papers may be up to 8 pages long, including diagrams. Papers will be reviewed. Papers will be stored and freely available on the IOA website library.
Completed papers may be up to a maximum of 8 pages long including diagrams.
Please do not submit papers with text in columns.
All papers will be reviewed.
A full paper, though strongly preferred, is not mandatory
The Abstract does not need to be included as these will be published separately. If you want to include your abstract please call it “Introduction” on the first page as shown in the template.
IOA Templates are available in Word and LaTeX form
All papers should be submitted as PDFs through the conference website.
All papers submitted for the conference will be published electronically in the prestigious Proceedings of the Institute of Acoustics. Recent upgrades mean these papers will be associated with a Descriptor of Interest (DOI) for international referencing. All papers will be accessible to delegates during the conference, and they will be made open access after the conference on the Institute of Acoustics website. https://www.ioa.org.uk/publications
Copyright. Papers that have been published in the IOA proceedings may be used by the authors for secondary purposes and published elsewhere. The source of the article has to be acknowledged and a link – if available, to the DOI of the article.

Payment
There is no fee for making a submission. If your submission is accepted for presentation, you will be required to attend the conference and pay a conference registration fee. Further information will be sent to you when authors are notified of the outcome of their submission

Please register for the conference as soon as possible but before the end of April 2024 to qualify for the “early” rate.
Student Prizes
Sponsored by UKAN+ Special Interest Group on Underwater Acoustics (SIGUA), the ICUA2024 Committee will be awarding 3 student prizes:
1st Prize – £250.00
2nd Prize – £150.00
3rd Prize – £100.00
Submissions will only be considered for the award if they are selected to give oral presentation at the conference.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award, an author must:
- Be enrolled as a student in a connected degree
- Be listed as the first author on the submitted abstract
- Present their work at the conference
- Graduates are eligible if the work being presented was preformed as a student within two years of the conference.
Awards
The prize winners will be selected by a panel of judges consisting of ICUA2024 Committee members and the SIGUA committee of UKAN+, based upon the originality, clarity and quality of research and its presentation.
